Baker Victory Services – Pre-application

The Summer Magic Program successfully unites older children and sibling groups with forever families.  Summer Magic is a host-to-adopt opportunity for families who are interested in adopting a child or children over the age of 8. We have placed 29 children in the first four years.

In 2000, BAKER VICTORY SERVICES (BVS) became aware of the plight of older children languishing in orphanages in need of permanent loving families; in response, Summer Victories (now Summer Magic) was launched in July of that year.  This unique program brings older orphaned children, usually from ages 8 to 14, to the United States to experience life with an American family.  The children generally arrive the first week of July, and return to Colombia at the end of the month.  Families may then apply to adopt them.  However, the hosting program is not limited to the summer.

BVS works with FANA in Bogota, Colombia, while partnering with Families of FANA for its Host-to-Adopt program. 

  • Interested families must have a completed agency home study and training prior to the arrival of the children. 
  • Families have the option of requesting sibling groups through this program.  BVS staff and our partners at FANA in Colombia make every effort to match families and children based on the home study and profiles of the children. 
  • Support is provided by the social work and coordination team around the clock while the children are here.  Weekly support meetings and activities are scheduled during the childrens visit.  BVS will assist you with the entire adoption process, making it as simple and enjoyable as possible.
